As a railfan or rail photographer we strive to take photos of trains and remain safe doing so. This is by staying off the main line, giving the train plenty of room since a train over hangs the track by a minimum of three feet each side, we do not go around crossing gates when down, we stop when the rail road crossing lights come on. Simple common sense rules and when we are near tracks we always expect a train.
Interesting gallery. The onboard POV is unique and insightful. To those of us who capture railroad images this gallery stands in mute testimony as a pictorial as to what not to do. ~V~
