Guadalupe Mountains National Park

In far west Texas, rising out of the Chihuahuan Desert, are the Guadalupe Mountains. In this range you'll find the iconic El Capitan, Texas' 8th tallest peak. Just to the north of El Capitan sits Guadalupe Peak, the tallest peak in Texas at 8,749 feet.

You can stay in Guadalupe Mountains National Park and enjoy the miles and miles of remote hiking trails, or you can stay in Van Horn, Texas and drive. Also in the area is Prada Marfa, a permanent art display between Valentine and Van Horn.
