Mekong journey: Kratie, Cambodia

Leaving behind the Lao border and Siphandone, the Four Thousand Islands, the Mekong shrugs off the rapids to continue coursing down through the flatlands of Cambodia. Towns like Stung Treng and Kratie draw their identity from the river. Riverine islands like Koh Trong, facing Kratie, await discovery by travellers ready for something more secluded than Siphandone.
