Not far from my home in Vancouver, Washington, USA, is a little stretch near the Columbia River that has some ponds and small lakes, including a fish hatchery and a couple of unmanaged little laks/ponds that I have dubbed "Critter Lake". This is because a number of annimals have made their home there. I believe that beavers created these bodies of water (you can see beaver dams) but now there are nutria instead of beaver, but these ponds are also populated by white geese, many ducks, and several Great Blue Herons.
