5 August 2006: Went snowhiking with YHA Bushwalking Club to the summit of Mt Buller (1805m) via the West Ridge. It was a beautiful clear day and there was more snow on the trail than the previous year. (see previous year) The trail was very steep in places and extremely slippery in others with the thin layer of snow/ice. We came down via the McLaughlin Spur and got back to Mirimbah an hour after sunset, walking 1 hour in the dark with only ead torches and a little bit of moonlight. It was quite a challenging and exciting adventure!
