26 December 2005 - 2 January 2006: Completed the Kiandra-Dead Horse Gap section of the Australian Alps Walking Track with John, Peter and Steve from YHA Bushwalking club. It's a 8-day, 120km walk crossing Australia's highest mountains including Mount Kosciuszko (2228m), Mount Townsend (2209m), Mount Twynam (2195m), Carruthers Peak (2145m), Mount Anton (2010m) and Mount Jagungal (2061m).

One of the best Christmas New Years trip! High peaks, beautiful wild flowers, clean streams, interesting historic huts, picturesque campsites, excellent weather, great fellow hikers, etc. The climb to Mount Kosciuszko in the morning on NYD 2006 made this extra special.
