The Red Hills Recreation Management Area is an area of low, rocky hills southwest of Chinese Camp in the Sierra Nevada foothills between Oakdale and Sonora. The area has many roads and trails for driving, hiking, riding bike or horse. There is a very old-west feel to the region, with ranches, fencelines, abandoned rail segments. There are forested areas of coulter pine and black oak, and open meadows, streams and waterfalls.
