A very sharp, beautiful image Ed. I love the shapes and contrast. Melanie (mlynn)

Luben - it was indeed a black guitar (w/ rosewood fretboard) shot against a black background (the inside of the case, actually, lined with black "fur"). Lighting was a single bulb from the lower left side of the image, to minimize any reflections appearing in the lacquer of the guitar finish. I also increased the contrast a bit in PS to ensure that the background showed up uniformly. - Ed Hahn

WOW, this one is even better!!! Did you photoshop the black body out or is it all in the lighting? I'm sorry if this appears to be a dumb question, but I know next to nothing about studio photography.

Luben

Ed, nice contrast of the pick guard with the rest of the guitar; and it's enhanced by your border/frame choice. I like the design elements here & how you effectively cropped/composed this. These are both nice shots. Looks like a "Fender Strat". MFC
