Here we can see that protrusion by the spark plug hole has been cut down a bit and blended.

The outer shelf/archway of the exhaust short side radius has been cut back and smoothed.

You can also see where that shelf around the intake bowl has been ground down.

Since I had the head checked out and resurfaced before I started this work, I did have to take steps to protect the deck surface while working on the CCs and the ports. That is where three layers of good duct tape comes in very handy. An accidental slip with a carbide burr can make a heck of a gouge. The triple thick duct tape did a very good job of protecting the deck surface.
