cleaned; checked and surfaced 0.007in.
I wanted to make sure the head was good before I started working on the combustion chambers, ports and bowls.
Unlike many, I do not believe in "shaving" a cylinder head to raise compression ratio. I do not believe in removing any more material than absolutely necessary to restore flatness to the deck surface...not 0.001in more than necessary.
Due to the brinelling of the aluminum by the fire rings of the head gasket, it was necessary to mill 0.007in from the deck to restore flatness to the deck of this head.
