We have visited Yellowstone several times before, but never in the wintertime. We were in the park from January 21 - 28. We were a bit concerned about about possible temperatures since the week before had seen highs only in the -20 degree range, but during our visit the daytime highs were normally in the upper 20's with sunny skies. Quite comfortable! We spent our first 3 nights just outside the north entrance in Gardiner, MT, and then journeyed into the interior of the park to stay at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge cabins for 5 more nights. Stephanie and Scott joined us for the last 3 nights of the trip. Yellowstone in winter was everything we hoped for and more - the scenery was spectacular, the winter activities were fun, and as usual, the abundance and variety of wildlife was simply awesome. We will definately return.
