Hurricane Isaac hit southeast Louisiana and blew winds and dropped rain for 36 hours. It stalled at the coastline and tidal surge got stronger and stronger. Parishes of Plaquemines, St. Charles and St. John flooded from the surge from the Gulf and Lake Pontchartrain. Thousands of homes were flooded and in Plaquemines the death of livestock and the loss of citrus groves were tremendous.
