Hurricane Isaac turned a pair of eagles' lives upside down. For the past 9 years they have been returning to their nest in Louisiana that they built a decade ago. All it needed each autumn was a slight cleanup and sprucing up.
However, when they returned two weeks ago they found no nest and the tree where the nest had been was broken and the nest blown away by the 36-hour winds of Isaac.
They are no longer young birds but they have thrown themselves into the job of rebuilding from scratch in a tree adjoining their old nest. They are rushing because she must get her eggs laid. Hurricane Isaac hurt more than people.
