As we sailed into Antarctica, we saw a number of Fin Whales feeding around the ship. Since our ship had to steer around some stormy weather, our intended destination had to change. So the captain took us to Elephant Island. We anchored off of Point Wild and took a Zodiac cruise around, seeing the area where Shackleton's men waited for four months until they were rescued. We saw the monument that was later erected in honor of Captain Luis Alberto Pardo, the captain of the ship that finally rescued them.
