Selective Sharpening with a Layer Mask

This tutorial will demonstrate one of the most powerful tools in all of PhotoShop ~ the ability to use a LAYER MASK to apply a global change to a selective portion of your image. In this example, I'll demonstrate this technique for selective sharpening ~ but understand it could just as easily be used for LEVELS, CURVES, CONTRAST, B&W, etc. Click the first image and let's get started.
