You know it has been years since I've climbed up to the cross (I have delegated that to house guests etc.) and I do know they had to replace it a while back. It used to be wood, but it could be concret or metallic now.

You live in a very scenic neighborhood! Are your neighbors used to seeing you about with the camera? I agree with earlier posts, the cross looks surreal. Is it metallic?

Yes, the cross is real. It was placed there to commemorate the Battle of San Pasqual - 1846

Great view! Interesting how the roof seems to be a lower elevation than you. Is that cross real? Looks almost transulcent. Beautiful.
