Lyttelton is the harbor town for Christchurch, which had a major earth quake about two months before our arrival. Most of the damage had been cleaned up, but some buildings were fenced off slated for destruction. The city of Christchurch has an English history and there are numerous Victorian houses and formal gardens. We thought the small city was the nicest we saw on our trip.
