In Madrid, each student lived with a different host family. The families were spread throughout the city. I lived with a host family near Cuatro Caminos which is a metro stop/ traffic circle/ neighborhood at the end of Avda. de Reina Victoria. We attended classes Monday- Friday in the classroom that our college has in the Colegio Mayor Isabel de España. I was one of the few students who had classes four days a week instead of five. On Fridays, I would go study outside of the program office or at the library where we had library cards. Often on the weekends, I would study in the silent study room at the Colegio Mayor. While in Madrid, I took government, theater, language (Spanish), and art.
We went on many field trips to art museums and to see plays for our classes. On the weekends, I visited museums in Madrid and sometimes saw movies (in Spanish) with friends from the Spain program.
