Fawn Darners can be found flying slowly up and downstream searching for prey along the banks of streams and rivers, sometimes along small, slow moving streams. More readily found in larger numbers later in the day and quite often in shady wooded edges. It hangs under twigs and small branches during the day. Sexes are alike and measure 2.5 - 3.0 inches.
