Southwest Adventure 2006

Out latest adventure, May/June 2006, was a tour of various canyons in the Southwest. We visited five regions within Utah and Arizona; Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion Canyon National Park, Paria-Vermillion Cliffs National Monumnet, and the Grand Canyon. Our goal was to experience as many of the classic canyons of the southwest that time would permit and we hiked our way down 17 canyons in all. Many of the canyons we visited are referred to as "slot canyons" due to the narrowness of the walls, which in some cases was less that one foot wide. Other canyons were techincal in nature, which means that ropes, harnesses, and belay devices are required to safely descend the canyon. So have a look at our little adventure!
