Pine Creek Canyon isn't far from Keyhole Canyon and the parking lot is the same one for Canyon Overlook. While doing the short hike up to the overlook we got a good look at Pine Creek Canyon from above (narrow, winding, and deep). We hung out at the top of the overlook for awhile to allow the sun to get higher in the sky before starting out (Pine Creek is notoriously cold and the book advises a later start to maximize sun). Pine Creek has the shortest approach of all; we descended from the parking lot about 100 feet and we were at the entrance.
This picture also shows our exit from Pine Creek Canyon. After leaving the slot we had a pain in the neck hike around/over huge boulders and through the river until we reached the road (maybe an hour or so hike). We knew we had to hitchhike to get back through the long tunnel and we were prepared with a sign. We must not have looked too crazy in our wetsuits and big packs because the second car picked us up.
