2011-01-04 Partial Solar Eclipse

After many weeks of mostly overcast and snowing, it cleared for just the few minutes on the exact time of maximum phase of this partial solar eclipse. I have managed to snap just a few pictures before some thick clouds rolled on again. There was no need to use any solar filter, as the sun was very low (10 - 15 degrees) above SE horizon and still covered behind some clouds.

Configuration used:
Manfrotto (Bogen) tripod with geared head
Takahashi FS60 with Borg 1,4x extender (EFL ca 500mm)
Canon 40D DSLR camera

All images with zenith UP - taken on Alt-Az mount.
