St. Isaac’s Cathedral

Named after 4th century monk Isaac of Dalmatia, it is the largest Orthodox basilica. Designed by French architect Auguste de Montferrand (1786–1858), it took 40 years to build and finished in 1858.
It has been a museum since 1931. It will be returned to the Russian Orthodox Church in the near future.
