Richard was the fourth of five known children born to, Thomas Stanton and his wife, Margaret Nancy [PEVELY] Stanton. He was born in Tennessee, married in Illinois and died in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. He was a paternal uncle to our own, Bluford Stanton.
