Bluford was born in Fishing Creek, Lincoln County, Kentucky in January of 1805. He was the second child of eight & the first son born to, John Stanton & his wife, Nancy [Pealey] Stanton. He died, 04 March 1865, in Demopolis, Marengo County, Alabama from a kidney infection. He was a proud Veteran of the Confederacy & gave his life for that cause. This stone was placed much later, by one of Bluford's second great grandsons, Ernie Connell. It rests in the Agency Cemetery, Buchanan County, Missouri.
