Tungsten2 * by Rod T.

Papeete, Tahiti

Photoshop post processing consisted of adjusting the white balance such that the illuminated deck had a cool tungsten feel, then convert the entire image to monochrome and then balancing the red/green/blue channels each to 33% intensity. Using my Wacom tablet and the history brush I carefully brought back the "color" to that one deck section.

Under the suggestion of John I recropped this image, removing a large portion of the dock area, thus moving the colored section to roughly 1/3 from the bottom.

Hi Rod,
I'm glad you left both in there so we can see the difference. Good idea. If you ever want to include a link in the caption of a pic to another pic (as you might here), just make sure you put something in front of the URL on the same line, otherwise the URL will not appear as a link.
Back to your reprocessing. I prefer this crop over your first version, but I think I would like it even better if you showed a little more foreground dock with at least the edge of the dock extending to the left border and with the lighted deck therefore slightly higher.
Thanks also for your processing description this time around. I love to hear how people arrive at their end points.
BTW, nice title. I had a Palm Tungsten T PDA before I skipped the T2 on my way to a T3, so I find your title kind of catchy. I've copied a few selected pics (JPEG files) onto an SD card so that I can use my TT3 as a portable viewer with Acid Image, which does a great job of zooming in and out, panning and providing the correct orientation to make best use of the landscape display when the unit is fully open. Sweet! I must put some more in there.
Cheers, John

This is a cropped version of "Tungsten" that was inspired by "John from down under" with his comment on ROT. Thanks John!
