Yachats

We volunteered 4 days a week for 4 months at the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area just south of Yachats in Lincoln County, Oregon.
When we weren't tied to a visitor center or posted as rovers on some chosen trail, we roamed the area between Newport and Florence,
trying trails, beaches, and restaurants. In some places, the beach is a sandy plain, basically flat; across the road
from where we lived we saw lots of crab parts washed up on the sand and one or two gulls. People go there to sit
and imbibe with friends, maybe around a driftwood fire, while the tide returns and the sun goes down. The basalt beaches are more dynamic;
there's more to catch the eye and ears; and the stony or pebbly beaches are where people go to search for agates.
