From Iceland, we enter the Prince Christian Sound (1) at the southern tip of Greenland.
Heading north along the coast, we stop at the Hvalsey Ruins and nearby Qaqortoq (2).
Continuing north, we stop at Greenland's Capital, Nuuk (3), and the small towns of Sisimiut (4)
and Ilulissat (5) before heading west (6) across Baffin Bay to Baffin Island, Canada.
The white area on the map of Greenland is its permanent ice sheet - it does not disappear
in the summer. This ice sheet is 1.4 miles thick and contains 8% of the world's fresh water.
It is also melting and if that should completely happen, sea levels would raise by 24 feet.
