Three languages are used in the Nunavut Territory: English, French,
and the indigenous Inuktitut. Inuktitut is a symbolic writing system
and there are numerous variations across the Inuit people in Canada.
Pond Inlet Hamlet is a small, predominantly Inuit community of about
1500 people with an economy based upon government work and tourism.
People in town are very friendly but that may result from a sign in
the co-op announcing a class on how to welcome tourists - that's us.
