Today we had a carnaval lunch in Santa Catarina. We walked down a muddy track. We slid down a muddy hill. We strode down a muddy path to a river that we couldn't cross. We went to Alcobaça to see a carnaval parade that ended yesterday. We tried to drive to Lisbon in a car that had no petrol, and had to walk to a petrol station in the middle of nowhere. We arrived in Lisbon in time to see the last 15 minutes of the football and missed the goal. I found out that Scotland beat England 18-12 yesterday in the Six Nations rugby union tournament. Suddenly it was a great day!
