NBC Fins


Between Negro Bill Canyon and the Colorado River is a plateau of fins and domes. The area has no name that I am aware of, so I call it the "NBC fin plateau" or just "NBC fins." This bizarre landscape is perhaps my favorite area near Moab. The area is seen in this WikiMapia aerial view

I first explored this area in 2006. Since then I have wandered among the fins and domes about eight times. I like to see what is around the corner or on the far side of something and this area provides many opportunities for that.
