The vine that ruined my day is at the far end of this corridor.
This was the only route to the inner sanctum of the butte.

I would like to think that it is the mature version (stage) of that species, the one in which the localized "light coloring" reaches it peak. However, personal study leads me to believe that this is only a juvenile, one exhibiting an early stage of the aformentioned coloring.
