In this view to the southeast, Wendover is just ahead set in a rather desolate landscape next to the Bonneville Salt Flats.

At left center, where the white horizon meest the mountains, one can see (in the original size image) Interstate 80 and the Union Pacific Railroad line.crossing the salt flats on their way to Salt Lake City. Straight ahead, beyond the city, is an area of the salt flats that is dedicated to salt/potash production.
