DM looking out over the Atlantic Ocean as the sun sets on his 41st birthday. We’d been to the beach but found it to be virtually non-existent as the tide was the highest tide I’ve ever seen on a ‘normal’ day. We walked the length of the beach, sat at the far end to watch the surfers and found our enjoyment spoiled by a stupid twat of a mid-life crisis guy who obviously needed his ‘manhood’ extended by the jet ski he was riding. He showed no consideration for the surfers, most of whom were worriedly looking in his direction, while moving away from his path as quickly as possible. Don’t you just hate those idiots whose own personal happiness is more important than either simple good manners or the happiness of a couple of dozen surfers?
Anyway, we realised that the sunset would be a good one and jumped into the car to o and see it set at Bedruthan Steps. This shot was, of course, taken there.
The sea was really calm and the most fantastic colour – almost electric. What a lovely evening and what a way to celebrate a birthday – no frills, no fuss, just us and nature. Cool.
About twenty minutes later, we were in the car again and driving towards home. We saw the full-moon rise and its size and clarity were so amazing, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a good one.
It’s been a packed day and we’ve done as much work as we’ve played but I’d say it’s been a good one.
Last year, we were in Jope's Engine House while DM was using his birthday pressie from his folks and and two years ago, we were also celebrating of course....this time with home-made curry!
