This is Main St. It is down close to the wharf. The city council passed an ordinance that said that NO future buildings could be built on the wharf side of this major street unless their purpose was to somehow help the fishing industry. Also, Commercial St. was landfilled/man-made, in order to get the railroad closest to the waterfront piers.
