This art nouveau building is located in Josefov (the Jewish Quarter) at the corner of Pařížská and Červená, a pedestrian alley. It was designed in 1906 by the architects František Weyr and Richard Klenka. The ground floor was originally occupied by Restaurace U Staré synagogy (Restaurant at the Old Synagogue). Today that space houses an Italian restaurant. As can be best seen in the fifth photo, the original name is still found in the mosaic above the corner entrance. The synagogue is just to the north. |
