Two Primrose moths (Schinia florida) #11164, in Evening primrose

Now that the evening primrose flowers are blooming it is time to look for these beautiful pink moths. They really are rather exotic with their bright pink colour and green eyes, oh and that little tuft of white 'hair' on the head. There were two of them on this one flower. Often during the day they sit with almost their entire body stuck into a flower. I think they are lovely! Come September, you'll find their rather nondescript green caterpillars chewing on the seed heads of the evening primrose.

Talking about colors! It's always great to find any kind of big mohts from their daytime roosting places, at this time from a flower. Great found and shot!

I've never seen one of these. They are delightful with their cotton candy colouring and sporty hair-do. V.
