A mass of toads

There are about 26 toads or more here. They prefer breeding in shallow water and so can often be found congregating along shorelines.

Males are so entirely focused on breeding that they will grab anything that moves. I have seen 4 or 5 males jumping on a poor unsuspecting painted turtle!
