Evangelical Training

5-21-2026. Copy text and put it into your favorite reading program. I occasionally add to or change this work.

I do not claim this is the best way to share the gospel but I have found its the best way for me and I see it work. If you read anything in this work that you don't agree with, please share. I am very open minded and eager to correct wrong information on this work.

Credit goes to Ray Comfort and Living Waters Ministry on how to share the gospel. You can find tons of resources on how to become a great evangelist at living waters dot com.

There are many tips, suggestions, and rules about sharing the gospel at the end of this lesson so if your interested in being an effective witness please look over them.

If you are a Christian, you will have a zeal to share the gospel. In fact, it's commanded of you. So, how do I go about sharing the gospel of Jesus? This lesson is created for you, the believer in Christ that desires to share the gospel but isn't sure how. I've been knocking on doors for a while, and I've had many wonderful communications with people. I've met so many nice people and yes, some do get saved ! I would say its somewhat of an adventure out on the streets and the more you evangelize the more you find yourself wanting to evangelize more.

Some people are not interested in the message I bring or have time to listen, but MOST of them will accept a gospel tract !

Gospel tracks are little booklets that present the gospel in a way that are difficult to ignore. They are full of cartoons with Bible verses that are a delight to read. I often see people reading them right after handing them out. Gospel tracts are my back up plan when I don't get the chance to share verbally. I often hand them out where ever I can. I want people to cherish those little jewels from heaven as much as I do !

Often I get asked " where do you attend church "? Its right there on the back of that gospel tract ! The Church name, address, schedule and phone number" are already displayed for them on the back of that gospel tract, so there is no way for them to forget your church information ! You can put your name or anything you like on the back of your gospel tract. I ordered a stamp I designed from Amazon to put all that information on.

So hang on. We're going to dive right into this. When evangelizing, stay as close to the gospel message as possible.

Too much non pertinent information could complicate or confuse the listener. So keep it simple. The Apostle Paul said, "For I determined not to know anything among you except Christ and him crucified." This means he stayed close to the core message of Salvation.

I follow these guidelines. You may not agree with them but this is how I understand them to be laid out in scripture, and they appear to work best for me. One, explain Judgment Day. Two, explain sin. Three, explain curse of sin. Four, explain provision for sin through Jesus. Five, explain man's response to God's provision. This sounds complicated, but it's not. It's exactly like a court case and you can refer to a court case as you share the gospel. Repeating steps 1 through 5 again, but this time as a court case. One, Court date is coming. Two, your crimes will be revealed. Three, punishment for those crimes will be revealed. Four. someone stepped in and paid for your crimes. Five, will you accept that payment and be thankful to that person who paid for your crimes.

I'm going to divide this teaching into two camps. First for non believers and the second and last one is for believers. Do you want to know why I include " believers " in my mission ? There are many believers in the world and you want to make a positive visit with them as well. Your visit can encourage them to share the gospel with others. You will learn from them and they will learn from you. They will find out how easy it is to share the gospel.

-----------------------

This section we will now go over is how to share the gospel with non believers.

So now you're knocking on the door. You will give your name, church name, and reason you're there. Thank that person for coming to the door ! Dont forget to do that. Just one sentence before you start asking them if you can share the gospel will give them an indication that you have a sense of sanity about yourself.

Ask them if they have a few minutes to hear the gospel of Jesus. Logically you will get a yes or no answer. If no, thank them and give them a gospel tract, If yes, then start sharing !

I start off by saying,"The Bible says it's appointed for all men once to die, then the judgment." Hebrews 9:27. We are all going to be judged for the good and bad that we have done in our life. Every secret thing will be revealed. That's Luke 12:2 and Luke 8:17. ( allow me to share this important note, you don't need to reference where in the bible those verses can be found , but if you feel it necessary, write them on paper if you like or put tabs in your Bible if your carrying a bible. I keep all paperwork I need on a clipboard.

Ask this, So Mr. Jones, are you a good person "? Those who think their good enough to make it into heaven, obviously dont know how morally perfect God is and will soon learn they are dead wrong about being good.

Moving right along..... Say this. "Proverbs 21:2 says, "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord searches the hearts. " So Mr Jones, we are going to search your heart or conscience with God's moral law to see if you're a good person.

Next step is MOST important. We need to bring the knowledge of sin to the listener. You must use a few moral commandments to show the listener they are guilty before a righteous judge. Without doing so, no one will understand they are a sinner and in need of a savior. Think about it this way,

how would you feel if a policeman pulled you over and gave you a ticket that said NOTHING AT ALL ON it, except it did have your name on it ? Then you ask him, “What is this for? " And he said, "It's for breaking the law ! You are a law breaker ! Your court date is in 3 weeks. " It wouldn't make sense to you and you would be very offended because you didnt think you've broken the law. But if he said you were clocked going 55 through a school zone and there were proper markings and signs you ignored, then the ticket would make sense to you. That's why sharing the law of God which is bad news to us, must precede the good news of Jesus paying the fine for those laws that we have broken.

Now I am going to explain a little more about how important sharing Gods moral law is when sharing the gospel.

Here are a few verses that plainly explain why one must use the law of God.

1. Preaching of the cross of Jesus without the law or the curse of the law is foolishness to those that are perishing.

2. The apostle Paul said, "I had not known sin but by the law."

3. The law is a schoolmaster that leads one to Christ.

4. Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be found guilty before God. This means Gods law stops the mouth of those from justifying themselves as good moral people.

5. By the law is the knowledge of sin.

6. The law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners

7. The law of the Lord is perfect for converting the soul.

If you want to sum up all this talk about the law you can say the law shows us how far from God we are. Romans three verse twenty three says, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Here now is a mighty important warning, If you do not use the law of God and the curse of the law which is hell, simply do NOT share the gospel. Failing to do so, will create a life enhancement gospel. Once that life enhancement expectation is followed with trials, persecutions, and all the troubles that life brings, the new convert will become disallusioned and embittered. He will backslide and may even toss Jesus in the trash can and rightly so, because he was promised life enhancement through Jesus and didnt recieve it. He would be right when claiming he had been lied to. Jesus primary mission was not to make our lives better, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and to save sinners from Hell ". When you use the word " save ", you have to tell the listener what a person needs to be saved from or it will make no sense to them ".

So now that we understand how important it is for sharing Gods law, we will use a few of the ten commandments found in the Old Testament book of Exodus to bring the knowledge of sin to the listener. ATTENTION !! Before going over a few commandments you MUST ask the listener for their permission. It will make the listener feel more at ease if you ask them for their permission. It will remove their right to get angry at you for asking them personal questions. Make it clear that you are not asking for specifics, just their yes and no answers to some of the ten commandments and if they feel uncomfortable answering questions simply let you know. Tell them they don't have to answer any questions they don't want to. With finesse' you can show them they have fallen short of the glory of God without hearing their answers to the commandments. If this approach is needed, go over the commandments without hearing their replies. Tell them if they've broken any of them they are guilty. But having them relate specifically to each commandment brings more conviction. It makes sin become exceedingly sinful if they attach a specific sin by definition in their life history. For example, if they just admitted to using the Lords name in vain ask them, " what does that make you "? They may say " that makes me a sinner ". Yes they are correct but ask, " more specifically what does that make you ? ". It makes you a Blasphemer, or if they have lied, that makes them a liar and so on. Remind them your not asking for specifics , just yes and no answers to the 10 commandments. Hopefully with your warm and sincere attitude they will trust you to walk with them through the commandments. A walk through using the commandments of God. Inform the listener you are going to use just four of the 10 commandments found in the Old Testament book of Exodus. If you cant remember these 4 commandments write them down on paper and put them on your clipboard. Your going to use the third, seventh, eighth, and ninth commandments. Now the questions come using the law. Third commandment. Have you ever used the Lord's name in vain? Not referring to God with the honor he deserves is using his name in vain. And the Lord says he will not hold anyone guiltless that uses his name in vain. Using the Lords name in vain was punishable by death in the Old Testament. You don't have to attach a curse word to God to use his name in vain. Simply not giving God the highest respect when speaking his name is disrespecting it. Using it frivolously is using it in vain. Who do you love the most? Would you attach a cuss word to their name? No, you wouldn't because you love and respect them. So why would you attach a cuss word to God who gave you that person you love the most? Why would you refer to God who gave you life and all that's in it with a meaning of disgust, contempt, disrespect, and displeasure? Guilty, one for one. Seventh commandment. Thou shall not commit adultery. Have you ever committed adultery? If your a male referring to this commandment with a female Say, " dont answer out loud, keep that answer to yourself, just know this--- that Jesus said in Matthew 5 verse 28, "But I say unto you that whosoever looks on another to lust after them has committed adultery already with them in their heart. " Have you ever looked at someone with lust, which is sexual desire? Of course you have. Sometimes I get asked what exactly is adultery. Just say " sex outside of marriage "If you feel uneasy about covering this commandment you can skip it, but its my understanding that God considers this sin against ones own body a more wicked sin than the others so try to cover it. If you've been guilty of this sin, openly admit it to them, in fact you can openly admit whatever you would like to admit to them, doing so may make them more comfortable. Also you can add other commandments in its place such as dishonoring parents, wanting things that should never belong to you, being self righteous which means believing you dont need God to get to heaven. Not loving your enemies is another. Hating someone according to God is the same as murdering them. Not forgiving others is another sin. There are many examples of sin throughout scripture , so if you would rather use any of those I dont see why you shouldnt. You can study on this more if you like. Guilty ,two for two. Eighth commandment. Ever stole anything? Thou shalt not steal. God doesn't care about the value of what you stole or how long ago you stole it. That is irrespective of his commandment. Have you ever been at work for any amount of time and wasn't working when you should be? That's stealing from your employer. Have you had sex outside of marriage ? That's stealing a gift from God before it's given to you through marriage. Have you sneaked into a movie theater without paying ? Have you recieved too much change after buying something and didnt return it ? Have you copied answers from a test at school ? Some things dont have to be physical to the touch to be stolen. Always cover these commandments with respect.. Guilty, Three for three. Let's try the ninth commandment. Bearing false witness, telling a lie. Have you ever told a lie? A white lie, a fib, an exaggeration, a half-truth. In Revelation 21:8, God says all liars will have their part in the lake of fire. Guilty. Four for four. Now say this , " I'm not judging you but by your own admission your a lying, blasphemous, thieving adulterer at heart and thats only four commandments. And because of your rebellion, you probably dont put God first in all that you do so make that five commandments. Do you think you will go to heaven or hell? Heaven? Why? with all these charges against you that you have admitted to, how can you be innocent ? You think your going to heaven because God is good and he will forgive you? So, you are going to tell God you're sorry and you know he's a good God and he will forgive you? Well, you should be sorry, but God can't forgive you because as you said, he is a good God. He is so good that he has to do what is right and condemn murderers, rapists, child molesters, and drug dealers. He is so good he has to condemn liars, thieves, and fornicators. God is so good that on judgment day he is going to take in account of every idle word you have ever spoke, Matthew 12:36. This is how good God will be on judgment day. With God being GOOD, its BAD news to unforgiven sinners. We don't even need to argue with God about our guilt because he said, "All men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. " Romans 3:23. And the wages of sin is death, Romans 6:23. . You can now ask the most important question of all ! If God was to judge you by the 10 commandments would you be innocent or guilty ? If they say innocent, simply use the court case on earth scenario. Remember illustrations are a great way to make a point. A good judge can not let you go. If they say " guilty", ask them if that concerns them. They have to say yes, saying they are not concerned about being found guilty is ridiculous. Ask them what they can do about it ? If they say " I will tell the judge Im sorry and live a better life", tell them that wont work in a court here on earth and it definitely wont work with a perfect and Holy God in heaven. You can also ask them this bone chilling question, how are you going to ask for forgiveness and live a better life if your already standing before the great judge on judgment day ?

I guarantee you will be surprised on how many people think living a better life will gain Gods favor. Say this... The bible says "There's absolutely nothing we can do to get right with God. No good deeds or going to church can save us from hell. Isaiah 64:6 says, "All the things that we do to get right with God are as filthy rags to God". It's apparently clear that you can do nothing to escape judgment day for the lost and hell is punishment for God's judgment on the lost. So Mr Jones, if we cant do anything to escape hell, has someone done anything for us to provide a way to escape hell? What your doing is asking questions to help direct them through the gospel message. See if they know anything about Jesus at this point. Many know about Jesus but they do not know how to appropriate his sacrifice. Work them to the cross of Christ. Ask the listener "What has God done for us? " Hopefully, they'll know. God in his loving mercy, has provided a way for us to keep from receiving what we deserve for our sins. What did he do for us? Romans 5:8. But God demonstrated his love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God sent his son Jesus to be scourged beyond our most terrifying nightmare and nailed to a cross and left to die so that a way to escape hell could be provided. Jesus shed his precious blood to wash away our sins so that we may be forgiven. God's goodness demanded sinless blood to be shed so that our sins can be forgiven, Hebrews 9:22. Jesus who didn't deserve this punishment took this punishment we deserved so that we may escape God's wrath on sin. And Galatians 3:13 says, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. " He said three peculiar words on the cross. " It is finished". Ask them what they think that means. That means he paid our wages for our sins in FULL with his life. There is nothing else that God needs to do to provide a way for us to escape His wrath on our sin. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus. Jesus paid our wages for our sins. Not only did Jesus die on the cross, he came back to life on the third day, showing that God the Father accepted the sacrifice for sin and that Jesus has victory over death. And with Jesus victory over death, we can also have victory over death in hell. God provided a way for us to escape hell and enter heaven. What do we do from here ? Romans 10 verse 9-10 says that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, for with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Did you notice that God said believe in your heart instead of your head ? Unlike a head knowledge a heart knowledge brings conviction . A person can keep getting head knowledge about Jesus but if that knowledge is not taken to the heart it will not do them any good. When knowledge goes to the heart , that means that knowledge affects the conscience. So what does a new Christian do from here ? Simply grow in the knowledge of Jesus. Learn and obey his commandments for acceptable living and turn away from all sin that Jesus paid for on the cross. That's called repentance. If you're sorry to God for the sin in your life that caused Jesus to suffer on your behalf to keep you out of hell, that means your heart has changed. Second Corinthians 7:10 says Godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation. That's what God wants. God loves you , he died on the cross for you and we should love him for that. Romans 8:1-2. There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus, the law of the spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Don't think about what you have to give up to go to heaven. Think about what Jesus gave up to keep you out of hell. Dear Lord, please forgive me for all the sins I have done in my life. I understand the outcome if I'm found guilty on judgment day,and I so want to be innocent. Please Lord, I invite you into my heart and please forgive me so I will pass from death and inherit eternal life with you and all the saved souls. Amen. LASTLY- if someone accepts Christ, rejoice with them ! You can read out loud the verses below if you like. Tell them "there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. ""He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life and you can believe on the name of the Son of God. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. On the back of those Jack Chick Tracts is great information that a new believer in Christ can do to start his new life with Jesus ! Here's a fast recap. One, judgment day. Two, explain sin. Three, explain results of sin. Four, explain God's provision for sin, That's Jesus, and five, man's choice to accept or deny that provision, that's heaven or hell . Stay on track with this outline and you will do fine. ---------------------------------Now finally, here's how to enjoy a short chat with believers, if they have the time. If someone claims they are already a believer, I say, "Great. My work here is done. " I know that sounds a little silly, but the humor in it is kind of an icebreaker. Ask them if they know how to share the gospel of Jesus. Most will say yes. If they say yes, say " great, can I share the gospel with you and afterwards would you let me know if I should add, delete or change anything ? Remember sharing the gospel is a two way conversation and believe me, people love to give their opinions ! If the believer says no, I dont have time to talk with you, simply give them a gospel tract and invite them to call you later to talk about Jesus. Thats very easy dont you think ? I will admit sometimes I may be in a talkative mood or want to change it around a bit , so I will invite a listener who claims to share the gospel to share it with me. I tell them to share the gospel with me as though I know nothing about the gospel. Convince me that I need Jesus. It can get interesting from there. Ask them questions to help them guide you through that 5 step outline I've mentioned. Thats about it. Again thats pretty easy dont you think ? -Be low is a great list of things I have learned along the way when evangelizing. The list continues to grow ! ----------------Tips, Tricks and suggestions. Before heading out, pray that God will be with you to help . Pray for people to give you the opportunity to share the gospel. Dear Lord turn hearts of stone to hearts of flesh. Now, here are some do's and dont's when doing door-to-door ministry. These are just a few of them I pulled out of the hat. These rules are designed for the door-to-door evangelist, but many of them can also be applied in other situations. Main rule, before anything, you must introduce yourself, your church or mission, and why you are there. Ask them for a few minutes of their time. Now, in no particular order,1. Only go into an invited house when there is a male over 18 in the room, but try your best to stay outside. If you must go inside stay at the door. Some people will not talk to you if you don't go inside. Some people cant listen to you unless you go inside because they are elderly or handicapped 2. Don't talk to children playing out in the yard. Of course you can say " hello " but don't chat with them. "3 Have gospel tracks with church information on it to give out. And have notes and scripture ready on paper. Don't waste time thumbing through the Bible to look up verses. People will get impatient with you if you do that 4. I take a short message on paper in Spanish saying, "I can't speak Spanish. Will you please accept this gospel track written in Spanish? "Door-to-door evangelists should have Spanish gospel tracks with them or speak Spanish 5. If needed, offer to come back at a better time and follow up if invited to do so 6. Don't stand close to the door after knocking on the door or ringing the bell. Stand far away from the door. Do whatever you can, to look as less intimidating as possible 7. Don't forget to ask permission from everyone before taking them through the commandments 8. If speaking with a female while using the seventh commandment, do it this way. Say, on the seventh commandment of thou shalt not commit adultery, I want you to keep your answer to yourself. Just know that Jesus said, "If you even so much as look at someone with lust, you have committed adultery with them in your heart. "9. I wear a shirt with my missions logo I had made and my phone number. And I wear a professionally made ID tag. No one wants a complete stranger knocking on their door without some type of identification 10. Use illustrations of court cases to help convey what judgment day will probably be like. For example, if a listener says he's a good person or his good outweighs the bad, or that he is sorry for those crimes he's committed and will never do them again, show him how that won't work in a court of law here on earth. And it definitely won't work with a morally perfect and holy God in heaven. Illustrations are a wonderful tool to convey meaning. Jesus used them and so can you 11. Your not a walking bible so expect to make mistakes... so learn from them 12. Don't forget to thank the listener for his or her time, no matter if it is a negative or positive visit 13. If you run into a person of another religion or belief system, simply ask them to listen to the gospel and offer them the same amount of time to share their belief 14. Stay away from Bible words that need to be defined. If you do use such a word, then define them without the need to be asked to do so 15. Stay on topic, but don't be a robot with a pre-programmed speech. No one wants to listen to you read long dissertations from your clipboard. But you can refer to notes and scriptures 16. Do not trespass where you see no trespassing signs and stay away from no soliciting signs as well 17. Ask them if they have a Bible. If not, tell them biblegateway dot com. If no internet, get them a Bible 18. It's best to go out in twos, but if you can't find a sidekick,go solo. Also Don't dress up. Just chill with your usual everyday clothes. Wear comfortable walking shoes 19. Best tracks I have found and use are Jack Chick tracks. The title, This was Your Life is the Gospel in the most straightforward presentation I have ever found. And they make them in Spanish and a long list of other languages 20. If you don't know the answer to a question, say, "I don't know. " Then do research later 21. Get permission from your church if your to use their info on your gospel tracts 22. Use the word FAITH often. Faith is a trusting expectation in the promises of God. Faith is an assurance in Gods Word 23. Sometimes I run into people who want to argue or debate. My main mission is to share the gospel, not to win or lose debates. Aim for the conscience in your gospel presentation. Also if I find someone argumentative about the validity of scripture or anything for that matter I simply ask , " if Christianity were true would you become a Christian "? If they answer no, or if they say you cant prove Christianity is true, then pack your bags and move on, but do it politely. Tell them you will pray for them. If they say YES, then its time to incorporate 1 Peter 3: 15, meaning tell that person why you have hope in God and His Word 24. Don't forget you must share the resurrection of Christ. Without it your faith is in vain 25. Keep in mind your out knocking on doors because you love your neighbor and your an agent of God. So do your best to share the all of the key components of the gospel

26. I've heard this before, I may have lied once or twice, I may have blasphemed Gods name once or twice or I may have committed adultery once or twice but that doesnt make me a blasphemer, liar or adulter. I ask " how many women does a man rape before he becomes a rapist " ? How many banks does a person rob before they become a bank robber "? How many people does one kill before he becomes a murderer "? Those questions should dispell that kind of rationalization from someone who tries to avoid accepting guilt from those crimes against God. 27. I could have put this in the list of why we use the law of God but placed it here... Romans 2: verse 15, " The Work of the Law written in their hearts": This indicates that God has instilled a fundamental moral awareness—a sense of right and wrong—within all human beings, regardless of their knowledge of Scripture. This is why the evangelist should not enter a conversation with a listener over their intellect, knowledge of philosophy, or even the bible itself. Aim for the conscience because God has put that conscience in everyone as a moral compass. It will drive them to confess of their sins when gently approached with the moral compass of Gods Law. Romans 1: verses 19-20 also tells us that God has placed the knowledge of a creator in the hearts of every person when they ponder creation and the powers that be in creation.. God new well aware of what he was doing when he created us ! God is on the side of the evangelist so get out there and share ! 28, A Trick to get a gospel tract into the hands of many. Say " Hey , great day huh ? Have you got one of these before? Say that while reaching out to them with a gospel tract . Human curiosity will compel them to reach out for it . Then say " its a gospel of Jesus tract, please read it later. Kind of sly dont you think ? Or you can say " Can I share something with you that means everything in the world to me "? If they have a heart they will reach for it. Then say " Its the gospel of Jesus " Thank you 29. Sometimes you need to ask the listener a question when they make an accusation that is not supported in scripture. This way you can help them understand the truth about their accusations. For example should someone say " I don't believe in hell ". You can ask " Do you think people who do bad things should be punished " ? And continue from there. 30. If you hear someone claim that God is a good God and he will forgive you without some sort of payment, you can share a courtroom case example as I do . Judge I know your a good judge and you will forgive my crimes and let me go. ASK, would a good judge let you go without you paying for your crimes ? Of course not ! The listener will agree as well. Or you can say " your God will let you go scot free because your God does not exist". A good and honorable god will insist that payment must be made. Creating a god in your mind that allows people to do bad things without being punished is called idolatry and thats a violation of the first and second commandments

31. Consider this overview of gospel sharing. 90% condemnation through the Law, 10% Good news of Jesus. Why ? You must convince the lost soul that they are sick with sin. Spend much time going through the law and how the listener is a transgressor of the law and are in great need of a way to escape the end result of sin, which is hell. Once they are convinced they are a sick sinner and the final results of sin is death in hell, they will run to a physician who has the cure. That cure is Jesus ! 32. You have to speak about the law, sin and HELL when sharing the gospel. If you leave these things out, there is no need for the sacrifice of Jesus. Jesus becomes nothing more than a motivational speaker. If you dont include the law, sin and hell than you will not be able to talk about repentence, which is turning away from sin. Hell is horrible but its more horrible not to include it when sharing the gospel 33. If someone asks “ why did Jesus have to be crucified” you can give a short answer like this, “ Gods perfect justice demanded a perfect payment for the worlds sins. A good God can not forgive sin without payment being made. Blood must be shed for the payment of sins. Questions like this one are a good example of what you might hear. However If I don't know the answer I tell them about got questions dot org as my favorite goto site for bible answers. If they would like you to look up something for them, then do it 34, If someone says anything about doing better or asking for forgiveness after being found guilty, tell them if its on judgment day then it is too late 35 . If a person shares their personal testimony with you about Jesus, simply listen intently. This may be their way they share the gospel and that should be good enough for anyone. Don't go into your presentation of the gospel. That would lessen their testimony. Just say “ thank you”, invite them to church and hand them a gospel tract 33. Here's something I like doing when a Christian believer doesn't have time to talk about the gospel. I ask if they have 60 seconds to answer a bible trivia question. Everyone loves trivia ! If they accept say this, " Jesus said in John 14:21 " he that knows my commandments and keeps them is the one that loves me ". Ask the listener “ Do you love Jesus”? "YES" will always be their answer. Ask them what are those 2 commandments that Jesus said we should know and keep ? WOW !! It will get interesting from there. Often its pretty fun to listen to a lot of people get half of that scripture partly correct. Don't make em sweat for too long. Help them along and you will see them enjoy your help. The answer is In Mathew 22: 37-40, love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. And the second one is love your neighbor as yourself. Tell them that LOVE fulfills ALL the commandments of God ! You're leaving them with a genuine, wholesome, and Christian rule to meditate on. If they know the answer say "hallelujah. Glory to Jesus” ! If they don't have time at all, then leave with a smile and don't forget to say thank you. Give them a gospel tract if they will accept it before you leave ! 34. I've heard a few say they haven't broken any of the commandments. No I am not lying. If you hear this reed out loud Romans 3 verse 23 For all of sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and 1 John 8, If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. Romans 3:10-11 There is none righteous no not one , there is none that understands there is none that seeks God. Then politely ask “ whose telling a lie about you not sinning, you or God “ ? 35. If I sense anyone is uncomfortable at any point of me sharing the gospel I say " I know its dark now but be assured there is light at the end of the tunnel " 36. IF you run into someone that answers your question about being a good person and they say “ No, I've done some terrible things “. Reply that's great your willing to admit that. Know that God forgives all sins. The bible says God is rich in mercy and ready to forgive ! God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. So if your listener is humbling admitting they have done wrong things, simply give them the grace of God. Its my understanding that you dont need to take someone through the law who knows and admits they have sinned against a Holy God. But still gently take them through the commandments. Remember just yes and no answers to the commandments 37. Keep your eyes on the person or persons your talking to. Even if Tarzan is swinging in the background keep your eyes on the person your talking to 38. If someone claims their heart belongs to another religion simply ask them to share why they believe that . Then politely ask them if you can share why you believe the bible is the word of God. STUDY ON THIS and be ready ! 39, Don't walk in peoples yards. Dont pet animals unless their owner gives you permission. You will find that their are a number of decisions to make when animals are present 40. Do not touch anyones mailbox. Whether its at the road or on the house, dont touch. Its against the law to mess with someones mailbox.41. This has happened a few times, when handing a gospel tract out, some people will hesitate to reach for it. They will just stare at it. If this happens here is what I say. Dont be scared of it, it wont catch on fire unless you want it to. They find that funny and will then reach for it. Thats all it takes 42. If you find someone is busy in their yard doing whatever, dont walk up on them and scare the pants off of them ! Make sure they see you and hand them a gospel tract and move on. Use your best judgment , but from experience people get ill if you cut in on them doing their yard work 43. Dont forget that if you run into someone who wants to debate about anything, ask " if Christianity were true , would you become a Christian and worship Christ " ? Thats a question that will show you whether or not you should spend any more tiime with that person 44. Always try to say at least a small prayer out loud for the people that you get to share the gospel with 45. When illustrating repentance I look to one point and say " keep your eyes on God and your sins will stay behind you " while pointing behind me. Remember that one cant remember from sin if they dont know what sin is. That is why you must explain the law to them 46. Make sure to offer an invitation to those who are not saved to come to Christ 47. Do not wear sunglasses in the presence of a listener. You can wear them anywhere but the minute they open the door, take them off 48. This has happened more than once and its good to know. I've met a few that have said, " I dont have much time, but I'll listen to what you have to say ". I reply, " ok, I'll give you my 60 second presentation of the gospel". There will be a judgment day for everyone, We all have sinned against God with lies, thefts, sexual immoralities, blasphemies, hatred, unforgiveness etc, and with those crimes against us we will go to hell. But God in his loving mercy sent his son Jesus to die on the cross so to make a payment for our sins and three days later he came back to life given us victory over death. . If we allow that sacrifice of love into our hearts so that we will live for Christ we will be saved". I would add more but with 60 seconds thats about all I have time for 49. IF a female answers the door , and after giving my name, church name and reason I'm there, I ask them if they are head of the house. Why? Because I would rather speak to the spiritual head of the house. Two reasons, first is because the husband is the spiritual head of the house, and secondly because I am a male it makes it much easier for me to go over the commandments about sexual immorality. I'm not going to make a big deal about it. I will just follow the rules I've made about proper ettiquette with females

50. I dont use the word " proof ". In short its arrogant and gives the listener a sense that your not open to their opinion. Instead I use the word " evidence. "

51. Dont dare repeat anything you hear someone say. Not one word ever.

52. I've heard this before ... " I would like to think about being saved ". Remind them that God has not promised them their next breath.

There is a lot of reading here I know, but I have added a lot of situations that can arise while sharing the gospel. I'm certain there wil be more , but always try to keep it short. If a listener shows indication that they want more of your time to learn about Jesus then give your time to them. If it becomes obvious they are just wanting to chat about anything under the sun, then do your best to keep the conversation centered on Jesus. Your first mission is to share the gospel. Did you really make it this far ? If you did I am very grateful for your time !! If you have any tips, concerns or complaints. please share in the comments section or send an email to counting on time at hotmail dot com.
