Do Catholics Study their Bibles ?

Do Catholics study their bible ?
For a warm up .... the feet of Jesus was kissed but that doesnt give a man a reason to kiss womens feet.

-----------------------------------
Dear Catholic Friends, please allow me to share this study with you and ask you to study these claims as well. Im relunctant to share this with you because the information might be recieved the wrong way. I have no bad intentions to cause any negative feelings. Because I care for you I would like to share some things that you can easily find out for yourself about Catholocism. If you find something here that is dubious in its claim, please take a moment and step back and look at the bigger picture. Something in Catholicism is way out of line with what we understand to be Gods love, mercy and grace. I have not forgotten Gods rule to do everything with love in this work.

Please review this rule in the bible... 2 Tm:2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Acts:17:11 ( Speaking of the Berean Jews ) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Here is a list of things I unconvered while studying Catholocism. I hope you will investigate the findings in this list.

1. Why is there a Pope or any priest today for that matter, when the bible says there is no mediator between man and God except Jesus ? The idea of Peter being the first Pope as claimed by the Catholic church is not supported. Scripture nowhere declares that Peter exercised authority over the other apostles or over the church at large. See Acts 15:1–23; Galatians 2:1–14; and 1 Peter 5:1–5. Nor does Scripture hint at the idea that the bishop of Rome, or any other bishop, was to have primacy over the church. In writing to Corinth, Paul addresses some internecine quarreling: “One of you says, ‘I follow Paul’; another, ‘I follow Apollos’; another, ‘I follow Cephas [Peter]’” (1 Corinthians 1:12). Paul mentions three prominent preachers, and he makes the point that none of them are worthy of special honor. The Christian life is not about following Paul or Apollos—or Peter. If Peter were the first pope, he would most likely have mentioned the fact that he was the Vicar of Christ or at least the bishop of Rome, but he never does. His self-description is simply “an apostle of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:1) and “a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:1). 1 Peter 2:9 says to all believers, But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim When God tore in two the temple veil that covered the doorway to the Holy of Holies at the time of Christ’s death (Matthew 27:51), He indicated that the Old Testament priesthood was no longer necessary. Now people could come directly to God through the great High Priest, Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:14–16). There are now no earthly mediators between God and man as existethe excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Each believer is their own priest.

1 Timothy 2:5 And the bible says Jesus is head of the church not the Pope ! "For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus"
Col 1:18 And he ( Jesus ) is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

2. Why do Catholics sometimes pray to Mother Mary when there is but one mediator between man and God ? 1 Tim 2:5. Mary is dead and is awaiting the future resurrection. She cant answer prayers and she doest carry them onward to God. This also applies to the dead saints that Catholics sometimes pray too . Yes, freaky and abominable stuff ! The bible says communication with the dead is an abomination to God ! Deut 18:11-12

3. Whats up with bowing down to statues or figures of Mary or even Jesus in Catholic churches when doing that is obviously breaking the 2cd commandment. Exodus 20:4-5

4. Why do Catholics confess their sins to a priest ? Again read 1 Timothy 2:5. Also if you read the bible you should know the priesthood was abolished when the temple curtian was rent ( torn in half) ( completely in half ) upon Christs death on the cross. This meant the old way of communicating with Jesus was done away with and now man can have a one on one personal relationship with God. Jesus and only Jesus is our high priest. You might as well be confessing your sins to a tree or a glass of water. And for a Catholic priest to tell anyone their sins are forgiven is straight out bold blasphemy. Only God knows the intents of the heart and only God can forgive sins.

5. Why do Catholics repeat a same prayer over and over ( O hail Mary, mother of God , full of grace.... etc ) when the bible says not to use the same prayer over and over. Mathew 6:7

6. Where do Catholics get the idea they can pray dead people ( in purgatory ) out of there and into heaven ? Nowhere in the bible does it even remotely allude to purgatory. Heres what the bible does say. Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" 2 Corinthians 6:2: Emphasizes that "now" is the time of salvation, implying it is not available later. Mathew 25 says the foolish virgins who had no oil for their lamps when the bridegroom came did not get a second chance. Sufficiency of Christ's Sacrifice: Scriptures indicate that Jesus paid for all sins, rendering a post-death purification unnecessary (Colossians 2:13, Hebrews 10:14).Faith Alone for Salvation: Salvation is by grace through faith, not works or purification (Ephesians 2:8-9). The bible is explicit, nothing but faith in the grace of God gets one into heaven. There are no detours, or waiting areas, or even fix it shops after God demands your last breath. Sin is sin. But in Catholicism there are differing ways of removing different levels of sin. Forgiveness vs. Purification: Sins must be forgiven by God through confession and Christ's sacrifice on Earth. Purgatory is the cleansing of "venial" (lesser) sins or the temporal punishment due to forgiven sins. Do you see how complicated and unbiblical Catholicism is ?

7. The Catholic office is not in charge of interpreting scripture though they will tell you they are. Why ? Because the bible says so ! 2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
8. The Catholic Church teaches that the Bible does not contain all truth. (The Faith of Millions, pp. 153-154) (The Faith of Our Fathers, p. 72)(A Catechism for Adults, Q. 1, p. 52).
What does the bible say about this. 2 Peter 2:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Timothy 3: 15-17 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. Notice the word ( ALL ) as it is used in the scriptures above. If you believe the bible is insufficient then you are open to be decieved by a deciever !
9. Why do Catholics think that the wine at communion is the real blood of Jesus when the bible teaches us its not ! ? In Mt 26:29 after Jesus had said, "this is my blood" and prayed, he still referred to the contents as, "fruit of the vine". If transubstantiation ( changing wine into blood ) had occurred, as the Roman Catholic church say it was at this time, then Jesus would never have referred to it as "fruit of the vine' but rather "blood".
10. Why does the Catholic church ( and many others ) baptize babies with a sprinkling of water when the bible says that one must know the difference between right and wrong before being saved, then water baptism comes after that. And THEN in every example in the bible its by way of full emersion . Mathew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: If this is the way Jesus did it, then this is the way we should do it . Baptism represents the death ( laying back ), burial ( under water ) and resurrection ( straightway out of the water ) of Jesus. To sprinking an unknowing infant is a mockery of the example Jesus taught us to follow.
11. The Catholic church teaches adults must prepare for justification through faith and good works but the bible teaches in Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Good works are the result of salvation, not the cause (Ephesians 2:8-10).
12 The Roman Catholic Church is necessary for salvation but the bible says There is salvation in no one but the Lord Jesus Christ, “for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12)

13 . The Catholic church teaches the sacrifice of the cross is perpetuated in the sacrifice of the Mass but the bible says the once-for-all sacrifice of the cross fully appeased God's wrath against sin. Hebrews 10: 12-18 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

14. A scary doctrine the Catholic Church teaches is that the Popes interpretation of scripture is infallible ! Papal infallibility is a dogma of the Catholic Church that states that, in virtue of the promise of Jesus to Peter, the Pope is preserved from the possibility of error. What does the bible say ? The bible teaches that ONLY God is infallible ! Numbers 23:19 , 2 Peter 1:19-21, 2 Tim 3:15-17,Proverbs 30:5,

15. Why do Catholics call the priest " Father" when the bible explicitly says not to ? ! Mathew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. And because we are so close to Mt:23:8 lets read that.... But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. Rabbi means priest ! So here God tells us not to call anyone Priest but God ( Jesus ). Jesus is our high priest, the ONLY priest we have. Our prayers go straight to him. So again, why do Catholics defy Gods rules so arrogantly ?

The bible teaches us there is no Old Testament priesthood now that Jesus sacrifice on the cross was accepted. Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great  High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God,  let us hold fast  our  confession.  For  we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but  was in all  points  tempted as  we are,  yet  without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. We now can come boldy to the throne of Grace. That is God the Father. There is no need for an earthly priest when we now have a heavenly priest who made a way for us to reach the Father of Heaven.

16. Why do Priests ( and Nuns )refuse to marry ( And meatless Friday )? Who do you think the bible is talking about in 1Tm:4:3 ? Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. Does the bible allow for a Priest ( should the office exist ?) Please read 1Tm:3:12: Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. Yes, the bible says that deacons (head of the congregation ) can have a wife ! So does Catholocism teach they shouldnt have ? The bible teaches there are dangers of lust, adultery, and fornication if one cant control such appetites and remedies this with marriage. 1 Cor 7:9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

17. Speaking of priests refusing to marry, Catholic priests claim that Peter was the first Pope/Bishop/Priest and Catholic bishops arent allowed to marry , but the apostle Peter was married! The Bible indicates Peter was married primarily through accounts of Jesus healing his mother-in-law, found in  Matthew 8:14-15, Mark 1:29-31, and Luke 4:38-39. Furthermore, in 1 Corinthians 9:5, the Apostle Paul refers to Cephas (Peter) having the right to bring a believing wife on his journeys

18. Why do Catholics worship Mary ? And I say worship because it is worship to pray to her. Where does the bible put Mother Mary in relationship to God ?
Luke 11:27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he ( Jesus ) said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. This may be the first recorded instance of Mary worship and Jesus said it would be best to keep Gods Words. John 1:8-10 Luke 1:46-47 Mary expressed her need for a savior . And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

19. Catholics claim Mary was sinless but in Luke 2:24 Mary made a sin offering at the temple. IF Mary was sinless why did she give a sin offering ? The bible says for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God ( Romans 3:23 )! The Bible says if we say we have no sin we call God a liar and the truth is not in us . 1 John 1:8,10. It appears that when Catholics say Mary was sinless they are calling God a liar !

20. God ( His Word ) alone is sufficient to all good works and is the only thing needed to make one acceptable to God . So what is the catholic church and the purpose of their position ? 2 Cor 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: Psalm 139:3 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. Psalm 138:2 The Catholic church teaches that faith, works and the sacraments are necessary for salvation. But what does the bible say ? Ephesians 2:vereses 8 and 9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16–17). If a teaching is biblical, it should be embraced because it reflects what God has said. If it is not, it should be rejected. It apperars the bible teaches us that the Word of God is sufficient for all believers to be Holy and acceptable to God. Since this is the case why does Catholocism teach doctrines that are not found in the bible ? Mark 7:7-9 says in vain do they worship me,teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men. And he said to them, "You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! God does not want anyone infiltrating His Holy Word with man made traditions.

21. Mother Marys perpetual virginity is not biblical- Heres the end of this controversy in one bible verse, and this bible verse is also in the Catholic bible ! Matthew 1:25 and knew her not until she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus. The term " knew " in the bible means sex. So there you go . And Mathew 13:55 says is this not the carpenter 's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? Catholics claim, correctly, that the Greek terms for "brothers" and "sisters" in these verses could also refer to male and female relatives, not necessarily literal brothers and sisters. However, the intended meaning is clear, they thought Jesus to be Joseph’s son, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas, and the brother of the unnamed and unnumbered sisters. Father, mother, brother, sister. It is straining the meaning of the text to interpret “brothers” and “sisters” as "cousins" or "relatives" with the mentioning of Jesus’ mother and father.

22.Priests- The term priests was taken from the Jewish religion, along with the alter, incense. Hebrews 8:3-4 For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer. For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;/ End. This explains that Jesus, as the superior High Priest, must offer a sacrifice—Himself—in the heavenly sanctuary, rather than earthly ones. It highlights that Jesus’ ministry is not earthly but heavenly, making the old Law's sacrificial system obsolete. Since Jesus offered himself as the final , one time does it all sacrifice, that the old Testament temple sacrifices to cover sins has been done away with. When the Jesus died on the cross the temple veil was torn in two ending the old covenant priesthood and along with it the never ending earthly sacrifices. The catholic church would like you to believe the old testament priesthood is still in affect today, but it is not.

23. Holy Communion as the Catholic church teaches. In acient Babylon, people worhshipped the sun god Baal. Then this religion moved into Egypt using different names. On the alters of Egypt were sun shaped wafers made of unlevened bread. These wavers were consecrated also known as being declard sacred , by the egyptian priests and supposedly they magically became the flesh of the sun god Osiris. This is called transubstantiantion. Then they ate their god which is a type of eucharist or communion. This part is quiet painful to claim but its true. Roman Catholics believe taht this wine and wafer actually become the real blood and flesh of Jesus Christ and this wine and wafer must be worshipped as God. Roman Catholics believe priests are so powerful that they can pull Christ out of heaven , put him on the cross and sacrifice him over and over again during every Mass. The Holy Eucharist or wafer, is placed in the center of this sunburst design tabletop decoration called the monstrance. During communiion Catholics must bow down and worship that little waver as God !! Who dreamed this crazy nonsense up ? The egyptians called it Osiris long before the Popes called it Jesus.

24. Startling fact. Around 1563 the Catholic Church created horrible laws at the council of Trent that made it a death sentence for anyone who said the bread and wine used in their holy communion were only symbolic. The Catholic Church still today decrees that the wafer and wine are the blood and flesh of Jesus along with the soul and divinity of the Lord Jesus ! Whoever disagrees with this rule is said to be anathema or damned as a heretic. This was professed by the council of Trent Session 13 Chapter 8. Anyone who refused to submit to the this flesh and blood doctrine were burned at the stake. Stretch racks and other methods of torture were also used. Anyone with common sense knows that wine and bread are not really the blood and flesh of Jesus at the communion. It represents the memory of what Jesus did for us on the cross. 1 Corinthians 11:25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." See, its not an act of obtaining any kind of washing away of sins but as a memorial to Jesus. Catholics are taught that the priest can command Jesus to come down from heaven and be resacrificed over and over again for forgiveness of sins. Blasphemous heresy ! Catholocism teaches that Christs one time sacrifice for all was not a one time sacrifice ! But the bible says this sacrifice was never to be repeated. Hebrews 9:12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Hebrews 10:12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

25.The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the three Catholic Sacraments of Initiation (along with Baptism and Eucharist) that seals the baptized with the gift of the Holy Spirit, strengthening them to live as witnesses of Christ. It deepens baptismal grace, uniting the person more firmly to Christ and the Church. Essential Rite: The bishop or priest lays hands on the person and anoints their forehead with consecrated Sacred Chrism oil while saying, "Be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit". What does the bible say ? 2 Corinthians 1:22 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit upon belief. Not when a Catholic priests lays hands on a believer. Righteousness with God is always and has always been through faith. Romans 4:5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

Update- Do you see the heresy Catholicism projects ? Catholicism claims it can take the power of God and put it into the hands of its priests !
