Royal Barge Museum

The ceremonial barges housed in the Royal Barge Museum were carved in the early part of the 19th century. Their figureheads take the form of creatures from Thai mythology. The procession of barges dates back to the early 13th century when barges were warcraft. In recent times a procession involves 52 vessels in five rows, requiring over 2,000 oarsmen.
