The excitement never ends at our house. For as long as I can remember I have coveted a binocular magnifier. I was always hesitant to get one because there were so many magnifications available and I had no idea which would be the most useful. When we visited the Consolidated Gold Mines in Dahlonega, GA, I got to chatting with a guy doing lapidary and using a binocular magnifier. I learned quite a bit in that conversation. So back home here in Houston I went looking and found the ones made by Donegan, the ones he was using. I found a set that included the binocular magnifier as well as a complete set of lenses and accessories with case. The lenses are glass not plastic. I had to have it. So after consulting with Ginny, I was allowed to buy it. It was expensive. I told her that it could be a Christmas present and she reminded me that I had used up all the Christmas presents through 2037.

Anyway, it arrived today and I couldn't wait to try it out. It is fantastic. It came with the 2.5X lens mounted and I tried it out cleaning the charging socket on my iPhone.
