Southern Ontario 2010

My mother and I travelled to southern Ontario again this spring to enjoy the peak of songbird migration. However, an early spring meant that the leaves were unusally well-developed for the second week of May, making warbler-viewing difficult. The weather was also uncooperative, with most days being cold, rainy, gusty, or a combination of the three. We visited Rondeau Park, Point Pelee, the St. Clair National Wildlife Area, Hillman Marsh, and Luther Marsh, with a side trip to Amherstburg to try and catch sight of a provincial rarity. Although my trip wasn't as "birdy" as I had hoped, I tallied 107 species during my week in southern Ontario.
