More than a decade after her father was murdered by the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto, my mother somehow obtained a package of his personal effects
- his glasses and a few other objects that belonged to him (possibly including his pocket watch - although my memory is a bit hazy).
This was all that remained of him. In this photo she and my father are shown burying a metal box containing those effects in a grave with the effects
of other Holocaust victims. Although I wasn't there, I assume this took place in a Jewish cemetery and they said Kaddish together with the others who participated.
