Coral-billed Ground Cuckoo

(carpococcyx renauldi)
This was one of the star birds of the trip. It is a shy secretive bird which can be difficult to find in its forest undergrowth habitat. However, a pair of birds have become partially habituated to human presence by coming to feed behind the restaurant kitchen at the Pai Kloy Mai camp site in Khao Yai National Park. Photographs taken in poor light near sunset.
