Joop's Dog Log - Thursday Feb 26

Paterswolde had a few snowflakes last night. Makes our park lane look pretty, don’t you think?

We’ve been discussing situations in the USA these past weeks.
Although my human and I are not Americans. We are Dutch. We are Europeans.
But every time it rains in the US, we get at least a drizzle too…
Anyway, Knuddelbacke was right when he called for positive thinking and positive energy the other day.
So today I want to be really positive.
My human sais the USA is a great country, especially Alaska.
But he likes Seattle a lot too, and Pleasanton in the SF Bay Area where he went to High School.
And Elkins in the mountains of West Virigina, where my other human taught history.
And the Georgia coast. And Maine. And Yosemite. And Maui. And the Utah desert. To mention just a few places.
Some of the best music, many of the best ideas, and all of the best Chevies come from the US.
The Americans I met were all nice humans with good cookies and soft hands.
My American collar feels real fine.
So, hey: let nobody give up on a country just because of politics. It will pass, OK?

Hey, Joop. I grew up in the USA and have been living out of country for more than 30 years. I posted a little rant about the place recently. The problem is it`s myopia and the size of it`s effect on the rest of the world.http://www.fotolog.net/_pixelsnstones/?photo_id=6135512

Joop, you are so very smart. I am an American, and I love my country very, very much. It saddens me to see so many hateful and angry words when people argue about our government. When people lash out in anger, they make a step backward instead of forward. One person will never change the mind of another by using words like "moron" or "stupid" or "evil." It is okay to question your government, even to criticize it. But you will never get anything to change if you can`t be civil about it.
Much love and cookies and many positive thoughts to you, Joop.

Happy, positive day to you, too Joop!
Looks very pleasant there abouts. (It`s warm enough here that the bull frogs are bellowing out their calls at the creek!)
Now we`ve got rain!!
Great weather for ducks!
Luke likes to pounce and bounce on his paws and pretend like he`s going to chase them, so they`ll take off and fly. Fascinated with flight.
Take care, friends!

Moin Joopi,...true words...but for us it goes without saying that mostly the people and politicians of a country are not the same...for us Germans it is still ok to be ashamed of what Hitler did to the world and to work here that things like that will never happen again.Feelings and opinions regarding the socalled rescuers have always been split and live in multiple variety. I love to hear that there are people in all countries of the world that share nearly same opinion.
We are able to make our minds up and tell truth from blablabla.....

beautiful snow dusting! Joop, you are so right about all of us part of the same world. That is why it is so shameful to be an american at this time when our "illegal" president is isolating us in so many ways from the rest of the world.

Happy Positive Day to you too Joop! I lived in California for a year when I was a teenager, and have visited the USA many times. It has a lot of wonderful things to offer the world. And of course I enjoy my Florida oranges every morning... thanks for reminding us of the good things Joop!

Oh Joop, that`s a really positive day. It seems your human knows half of the USA :) We know some parts of Canada (BC and AB) and some places of Washington State and Florida in the USA.
Your words are golden as always, Joop. Man can speak bad about a country but if you meet a citizen of that country it is a good meeting most.
Let`s celebrate more `positive days` and ... the park lane looks wonderful but without you it was a little bit empty ;-)

From your lips about our politics passing, Joop. May we be over this scarey situation by this time next year. This is a gorgeous country over here, full of extreme contrasts and your humans tell you true.
I love this shot, btw. Beautiful trees in fine perspective and everything lightly dusted with sugar. Yum!

Thank you...I think I, as an American, needed to hear something like that. I have never seen a political year quite like this. But there is so much to love about my country, mostly the wonderful people. Waldgeister is quite right...the people and the politicians are not the same thing.
And you know, Joop, I don`t mind your human having these discussions on your flog. It is nice to hear that we the people of the United States are understood by the rest of the world. It does not feel necessarily negative to me, but more cathartic. So I thank you for having your flog open to discussions, and enjoy your snow today, dear Joop.

Nice snow! And positive words.. I am happy to hear that ~~~~
I for one CERTAINLY do not feel "shamed" to be an American citizen.. we still have a hell of a lot to be PROUD of ~~~ but all the BS going around now has put a cloud over that, too..

Awww, today`s text made me smile. :-) Were you born in Holland? Or did you immigrate there? I used to live in Germany (for four years) and I was raised in America (Alaska, Washington). I prefer the European culture and politics, but yes, America is an AMAZING country, for many different reasons.

Actually, I meant "was your HUMAN born in Holland?" Heheheh. I know YOU were born a Dutch doggie!!! Sweet! Enjoy the snow, cutie!

Joop, the politics and the politicians of the USA are very messed up right now, but many of us citizens hope to change that in November. Thanks for the positive thoughts and kind words about my country. Yours is also a wonderful country from which many great things come — including the ancestors of one of my humans! (They were from Doorn; sometime after they came to America, the spelling of their last name changed to Van Doren.)

This is a lovely image! I love the long shadows! Boy, Joop, it sounds like your humans have been to more places then my moms! I think we need both positive and negative to make the world go round. Molecules need both electrons and protons to be, so do we. Thanks for all your thoughts from both sides of the coin.
Kisses, Max
