Joop's Dog Log - Friday Feb 20

Hello everybody. My human returned. He did his job. And everything worked out fine.
He helped my grandhuman move from his old house to his new apartment.
You see my grandhuman in the photo here with me.
By the way: that new apartment is really spectacular, he has a view on the river IJssel
and his sunshades come down automatically!
For my grandhuman moving meant chosing between his stuff.
He could only keep about half of his things.
It`s really strange how humans hang on to their stuff.
Many of their things they don`t use or need anymore but still they find it hard to part from them.
That`s a human thing. Dogs are not like that.
Anyway, I`m glad my human is back. I`m ready for a bicycle run.

Kiitos kovasti tosi ihanista valokuvista. Ne tekivät meidät tosi iloisiksi.

Thank you for the lovely photoes You have taken. Its Saturday evening 7 pm in Finland
I and my dear husband kind of bump into your website by accident. But we were totally happy and amazed of the site. So lovely photos of Joop. He seems to be a very happy and intelligent fellow, reminds us of our old family member Dudley the English Setter 16 years old. We just wanted to thank for the excellent photos and for sharing them with us. We wish all the best and happy springtime to both of you. Take care!

Regards from Finland !

"Your grandhuman seems to love you by the way he holds you and smiles, Joop! I know humans have strange habits such as being too attached to useless THINGS... but in the end... humans and dogs do have a lot in common, don´t we?" Magali :)

Such a lovely grandhuman you have there!!! Looks like a very nice man! :-) Moving is hard, hard work. ESPECIALLY when you have to part with many of your things. It`s very hard.
I`m glad your human is back, though! YAY!

Ah, you look very pleased, Joop. And apparently you like your grandhuman just fine. That`s understandable as he`s a fine looking gent, at least to these human eyes. Have fun on that first wonderful bicycle ride!

Yeah....I`m glad you and Henk are back, Joop. I remember Henk`s father from this Christmas picture. Seems there was also another grandhuman in it...your other human`s mother. But that`s for another time.
Sounds like your grandhuman went into a Senior living apartment. That is such a good idea...much less to take care of and worry about. Let the other people worry. It was nice of your human to help him move his stuff.
See you tomorrow, dear Joop.

What a sweet picture. Many people find the "final move" to be very stressful. Your grandhuman is very lucky to have had such a good companion visit and comfort him.

Moving is difficult, Joop. In some ways people are more like cats than dogs, in that they become very attached to a place, and to the routine of a place. Dogs are more accepting of change, and not at all interested in "things."
You look so sweet together. You`re a good dog!

This is a big deal for humans, Joop. My mothers mother now lives with us, but she went from a house to a retirement home to here and her world keeps getting smaller. She is not in such great shape as your grandhuman, but is losing her memory bit by bit. It has been difficult for her and for my moms, too.
Those automatic sunshades sound really cool! Your wonderful grandhuman looks very kind and I hope he makes this adjustment well. Glad you are supportive.
Kisses to you

How very sweet. You know something Joop, it is really amazing if you think about how a fine dog such as yourself, can have relationships with Humans and Grandhumans, and that here around the earth from you, you have become so very real, and your humans and what they do and where they go, all have become like a family out there in the world. I have too many things, too. Today I got rid of a box of them, but then I got a new box of them. Yikes!
