Union Terminal, Cincinnati, Ohio (1933)

This terminal is noted for both its grand scale and Art Deco architecture and sports the largest half dome in the Western Hemisphere. The complex covers 287 acres and has 94 miles of track.

Building materials include cedar bark in the roof and cork bark in the façade, with cinnamon in the door.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

*****

We went to the United States Botanic Garden’s Season’s Greenings exhibit titled “All Aboard,” which showcases historic train stations from around the country made almost entirely from plant materials.

Hard to imagine a terminal that's 287 acres - you'd need to know where you're going !!! Super shot and interesting info. V
