The Lahaina, Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad, now known as the Sugar Cane Train and a tourist attraction, transported cut sugar cane from field to port.
Building materials include pine bark, pinecone scales and cattail in the roof and winged euonymus twigs, ash bark and bamboo in the siding.
