North Bennington Depot, Vermont (1880)

After serving villagers and visitors for half a century, the train depot fell into a state of disrepair when travel by passenger train began to decline. It was restored in the 1970s.

Building materials include palm leaves, palm flowers and horse chestnut in the clocks.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

*****

We went to the United States Botanic Garden’s Season’s Greenings exhibit titled “All Aboard,” which showcases historic train stations from around the country made almost entirely from plant materials.
